KEN GOODRICK, Ph.D.

Ken Goodrick is an Associate Professor in Family and Community Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University, followed by his Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Houston, and finished his Post-Doctorate work at the University of Houston and Baylor College of Medicine.

Goodrick is a Fellow of the North American Association for the Study of Obesity. As vice-chair of the Texas State Obesity Task Force he helped develop the Strategic Plan for Prevention of Obesity in Texas. He has lectured internationally on weight and energy. Dr. Goodrick has published a multitude of papers in scientific journals, and has authored two books for the public, Living Without Dieting (Warner), and Energy, Peace, Purpose (Putnam). He has received 5 NIH grants to research obesity and eating disorders, and is currently co-investigator on several research grants to study prevention of obesity, diabetes, and hypertension.

Dr. Goodrick has also worked as a consultant in multiple capacities and has developed and tested treatment protocols for weight, energy and stress management for use in primary care medicine.
