Chicago Fire Department (CFD) Wellness Committee
Description: The CFD Wellness Committee is a volunteer committee comprised of firefighters and paramedics charged with increasing health and fitness levels and overall wellness of department members.

Description: Common Threads was founded by Oprah Winfrey’s personal chef, which brings children together to learn, teach and embrace one another’s diversity and differences through food and arts.

Girls on the Run-Chicago (GOTR) (www.gotrchicago.com)
Description: The primary focus of the local branch of this national program is preparing girls for a 3.1-mile walk/run by combining running into a variety of other fun activities. GOTR uses the power of running to change the way girls see themselves and their opportunities.

Girl Scouts of Chicago Uniquely ME! (www.girlscouts-chicago.org)
Description: Uniquely Me! is a initiative whose goal is to get 500 girls active, healthy and informed about healthy living and self-esteem. Girls ages 8-13 participate in a 12-session program designed to explore their fitness interests while equipping them with healthy decision-making skills.

La Rabida Children’s Hospital FitMatters
Description: FitMatters is an intensive weight-control program that teaches families how to modify their home environments and activity patterns, as well as to improve goal setting and stress management skills. The program includes individual, group, family, outpatient and inpatient treatment.
