ACFN to Receive National Leadership Award

The National Association for Health and Fitness (NAHF) will be hosting its 29th annual conference from April 24-25 in Buffalo, NY. At the Gold Star Awards Dinner held on April 24, ACFN will be presented with this year’s National Health and Fitness Exemplary Leadership Award, for ACFN’s proven leadership in the promotion of health and wellness around the country.

ACFN Chair Dr. Susan Finn will be an honored guest at the dinner to speak on ACFN’s primary initiative in 2005, highlights from the TRIUMPH series of events and the lessons learned.

The 2006 conference theme is “Worksite Wellness - The States Respond.” The conference will be held at the Adam’s Mark Hotel, in Buffalo, NY. Conference Chair Michael Feulner indicated, “The conference will feature presentations, panel discussions and networking opportunities addressing actions in the states for planning and implementing worksite programs, policy changes, environmental interventions and community capacity building to increase worksite health promotion activity.”

Melissa Johnson, Executive Director, President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports Thomas Golaszewski, Professor, State University College of New York at Brockport Linda Wolfe, Director, New York state’s employee wellness program Brenda Loube, President, Corporate Fitness Works Phil Haberstro, Executive Director, Be Active New York State Initiative, National Association for Health and Fitness
