Expert Joins ACFN’s Advisory Board
ACFN is honored to announce that Patti Geil, M.S., R.D., F.A.D.A., C.D.E. will be representing the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) on our 30 member Advisory Board. “With a strong background in diabetes education, this will bring an additional perspective for ACFN’s upcoming projects and future planning. We welcome Patti to our board and look forward to her invaluable expertise and insight as we continue to move forward on the obesity issue,” said ACFN Chair Susan Finn, Ph.D., R.D., L.D., F.A.D.A. Patti serves as a member of the Board of Directors of AADE. She is a registered dietitian, published author and Certified Diabetes Educator. Patti has more than 25 years of experience in diabetes education in a variety of settings from pediatrics to nutrition research, and as a member of a Recognized Education Program of the American Diabetes Association. Patti is an active member of the ADA, AADE and ADA’s Diabetes Care and Education Dietetic Practice Group. She is also a certified Fellow of the ADA and has been named Kentucky Outstanding Dietitian of the Year and was named the 2005 “Diabetes Educator of the Year” by the Diabetes Care and Education Practice Group.
